Wally being congratulated on winning the Royal Scottish Gathering Marathon - in 3 hours 11 minutes - after having started at 1pm - with weather so hot the tar melted & stuck to the soles of his shoes - without any water points.- so, they had to run into people's gardens to get a drink. Wally's comment, "It was hell getting down on all fours to drink out of the dog's bowl - especially if the dog was there and didn't want to share."
